The best things about us are the connections between us, our words and our stories.
I write fiction and non-fiction, read constantly, and get paid to teach others how to read critically and to write, so I spend most of my time thinking about how we communicate and tell stories. I teach English at the University of Regina, where I coordinate the department's online course offerings, design ways of learning about literature and writing online, and teach both online and face-to-face courses in dystopian literature, urban fiction, and various other things.
(I'm paid to talk about books and ideas, and for someone who would be doing all of that for free anyway, it often does feel a bit like stealing, as people who love their jobs will sometimes say.)
This site is a document of things I'm thinking or reading about words and stories. I make no promises about coherence or relevance, but I'll do my best to be diverting and amusing. Thanks for visiting and being a part of this.
